OVERCOMING DESTINY DESTROYERS (2)

In the last write-up, we looked at what destiny means and we saw that each and everyone of us has a destiny to fulfull to make this world a better place for all.It is painful to note however that not everyone fulfills God's purpose for their lives. We will start looking at the enemies of destiny and how to overcome them in our lives.

The first among these enemies is ignorance. In Hosea 4:6, God was saying that His people perished for lack of knowledge or ignorance. If someone is unaware or ignorant of the destiny that God wants him to fulfill or the purpose of God for his life, such an individual is not likely to set goals on how to achieve this destiny. He or she is likely to live his or her life carelessly. They will not discover the gifts or aptitudes that God gave them; and where they discover them, they will not make maximum use of the gifts or aptitudes and they will not attain the level that God has designed for them
In Mathew 25:14-29, the man who collected one talent despised his gift. He was focused on the gifts of others. Those who had three and five gifts used their own and the master praised them. What potential has God deposited into your life? Are you using the gifts maximally?. David had the habit of singing and praising God when alone with his animals in the bush. He kept doing this even when nobody noticed him. That gift made way for him as he was invited to the palace to play music so that King Saul would find relief. That was the beginning of his greatness. I decree today that your gift will make a  way for you in Jesus name. Joseph and Daniel had the gift of interpreting dreams. They kept on using the gift even when nobody praised them. The gift eventually made a way for them
Have you discovered your gift? What are you good at doing? What will you be willing to do even when they say you will not be paid? What are you passionate about? All these are guide to discover your gifts. If you have discovered your gift and potentials, be ready to use them to the utmost and the Lord will promote you.

OVERCOMING DESTINY DESTROYERS

Today we shall start looking at the topic "Overcoming Destiny Destroyers" 1. What is Destiny? Destiny can be called our divine decree or fate. It can also be called the purpose of God for creating each and everyone of us. Everyone of us has a destiny to fulfill on earth. This is obvious from Jeremiah chapter one verse five. The destiny or purpose that God has for everyone of us is very good Jeremiah 29:11. We are able to know that God's purpose for us is good because He created us in His own image. When Adam and Eve sinned against Him in the garden of Eden, He did not destroy them, rather He killed an animal to make atonement for their sins. He also made a promise of a saviour who would come and destroy the serpent ie the devil who caused man to sin against God. Jesus is that saviour. He came principally  to reconcile man back to God and destroy all works of the devil. Mathew 1:21, Hebrew 2:14. John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way for Jesus who is the saviour of ...

PERSONAL QUIET TIME PART ONE

I will attempt to discuss the issue of quiet time among christians in two or three instalments. This is the first installment. 1. What do i mean by a personal quiet time? Personal quiet time is a term used to describe regular individual christian activities such as prayers, private meditations and Bible study. It is a time set aside in a certain place where an individual can be alone with the Lord. It is different from fellowship meeting we have with other members of the church or our families. It is more or less a one-on-one meeting between a person and God Almioghty. In Psalm 46:10, God commanded us to be still in His presence. Jesus taught us to have a quiet time before God (Mathew 6:6). He advised us to go into our closet, close the door and pray to God, and that God who sees in secret will answer us openly. Observing quiet time did not start today. It has been around for a long time. Let us look at examples of people in the Bible, who had quiet time (a) Isaac Genesis 24:63: He a...
